Waterloo Ridge Church
This article sent to me by Lynn Tenney is fantastic. They didn't forget those settlers after they left Iowa!

"I was doing some Ancestry.com research on my Hendricks ancestor, Knut Nelson Stover, who came from Norway in 1867 and settled in Alamakee Co, IA before moving to Hendricks in 1880 or so. I got a hit on an article in the Winona Daily News from 3/10/1967. The article was about the Waterloo Ridge Norwegian Lutheran Church celebrating their 100th anniversary. If you have not seen the article and have access to Ancestry, you may want to look it up. If not, I may be able to send you a jpeg of the page. I don't think you could put it on the web unless we can find it from a different source but you could transcribe the article.
The article is quite lengthy with photos and mentions many of the original Hendricks settlers but most are mentioned by their patronymic name rather than the farm name. There are also some misspellings of names, I imagine the article is transcribing some original church records. As an example, one name mentioned is Peder Dille and Axel P. Dille. These names don't sound Norwegian to me and may be Digre."
First is the image of the whole article, then I've got each section so you can read them easily!!! Scroll down!
And on 2/13 another image was added way at the bottom of this page naming a Digre!
Another image and comment from Lynn:
"Here's a snapshot of the church in the book Norske lutherske menigheter i Amerika, 1843-1916, Volume 1 on page 334. This book can be downloaded for free at http://books.google.com . It seems to confirm my Dille = Digre theory. I also found a book online about the 75th anniversary of the same church so I have put it on order. I'll let you know what else I find out!"
And Lynn obtained this from the MN. History Center:
